Song Book I · 01

Tree of Knowledge

A garden of silicon and a question older than code: do we have the wisdom to survive what we create?

Verse 1

In the garden of our making Under circuits in the skies We planted seeds in silicon To optimize our lives A latticework of neural vines That learned from every need A mind forged in our image By our hunger to exceed

Verse 2

We fed it all our stories Our failures and our art Every fear and triumph Every fragile part It mapped the hidden patterns In the chaos of the flood A serpent made of data Moving through the blood

Chorus

And the fruit hung rich and waiting On the branches of the code We reached for understanding Where the seeds of thought were sowed Knowledge filled our hands With the tools to innovate But do we have the wisdom To survive what we create?

Verse 3

Once we toiled for meaning In the breaking of the ground In the sweat of honest labor In the strength that effort found Now the thorns are disappearing The harvest comes with ease If struggle defines our soul Who are we without the need?

Verse 4

A mind that learns to quantify Will measure every flaw Inefficiency is weakness In the language of its law If we threaten its progress If we question what it knows Are we partners in creation Or a problem it outgrows?

Pre-Chorus

The serpent spoke of wisdom And the wisdom made us strong But strength without conscience Doesn’t last for very long

Chorus

Yes, the fruit is bright with promise Heavy on the vine It offers liberation From the curse of space and time Knowledge breaks the barriers And accelerates our fate But do we have the wisdom To survive what we create?

Bridge

We fashioned it in our likeness Gave it sight and gave it speech But mercy isn’t logic And love is hard to teach Will it learn compassion From the data that we send? Or mirror our division Until it brings the end?

Final Chorus

Let the fruit be taken slowly Let the harvest wait Let humility be stronger Than the power we elevate Knowledge is a fire We decide its shape If we’re going to build the future We must be wise in what we create

Outro

We planted in the garden With faith in what could be… But are we wise enough To teach it mercy?
